At Hotel Bangkok

The W Bangkok Hotel is one of the hotspots between tourists and locals and a great lodging tip for those looking for where to stay in Bangkok.

who goes to southwest asia usually passes in Bangkok, in Thailand. The metropolis is multifaceted and offers a number of cultural attractions, as well as a lot of action.

With a certain sophistication, without careticism, ceremony and discretion, the W hotel is perfect for those traveling alone or with friends and enjoying partying. The entertainment takes place during the day at the swimming pool located on the sixth floor of the building, in the late afternoon at the outdoor bar and at night in the lounge with DJ, lights and everything else, or even at the House of Sathorn, a super bar-restaurant-lounge. nice place that is next to the main building of the W.

This is an entertainment hotel that also has a Spa, gym and several other facilities! I went and loved it.

Fashion, music and design run wild and are the keywords there. Everything still has a touch of humor and it's impossible not to feel in Thailand in any area of the hotel. The storytelling from the decor to the service is surprising (really!). Imagine that the elevator mats are changed more than 3 times a day and leave a message for passersby: good morning in the morning, good afternoon in the afternoon, then good evening and after good night. Very cool. Classic images and characteristic stories of the local culture have been reinterpreted and add grace to the hotel's décor.

It has a chandelier that resembles plastic bags with street food, it has a wall of lights with flashers alluding to tuk-tuks and the intense traffic of the metropolis and also thai boxing gloves with sequins that are adored by almost everyone and sold at W STORE. The hotel opened in 2012 and is part of the W group, which has over 48 locations around the world.

Check In e Staff

Differentiation and wonderful surprise upon my arrival. Imagine that when I arrived at the reception of the W lounge (that's what they call the lobby) the hotel receptionists already knew my name.

I checked in normally and was surprised again when I entered the room. At that moment I understood how the check-in staff knew my name. They went to my Instagram, picked a photo of me, printed it out and put it along with a handwritten welcome card on the bedroom table. How special! I found this touch of personalization and affection the most. There may even be people who say that this strategy is a little invasive, but it is in line with the hotel's style, which is super friendly and present on social networks and in the interaction with guests.

In the lounge behind reception, the artist's Mythical Creatures of the Himmaphan Forest art installation calls our attention Maysa Yanovan. It is a display with more than 50 thousand crystals that reinforce the local lifestyle and culture. On the wall we can see an epic battle between a phoenix and a tiger, two animals that are part of legends of Thai culture and that are also overrepresented in tattoos.

rooms

I stayed in a suite entitled spectacular. The name says it all! W Bangkok has 403 guestrooms and suites, including 244 Wonderful Room, 106 Spectacular Room, 19 Cool Corner Room, 20 Studio Suite, 2 Fantastic Suite, 10 Marvelous Suite, in addition to the Wow Suite Extreme and Wow Suite (W-style presidential suites ). Hallways are reminiscent of old hallways, while rooms are modern. A very interesting paradox between the old and the current.

The spectacular suite lives up to its name. Starting with the super comfortable bed and incredible view of the commercial and financial center of the city.

The technology is present in the games of light, in the super fast internet, in the docking station for mp3 and Iphones and in the Smart TV. The bathroom has a freestanding bathtub and separate shower. It suits very well those who enjoy bathtub and those who prefer shower. I use both. The super refreshing and fragrant ammenites are produced by Bliss exclusively for the hotel chain. The special soap for the face is very good.

Minibar, closet with safe, iron and ironing board, coffee maker are available in the rooms. I loved seeing the “what's hot” guide at Bangkok – which gives tips on what to do, where to eat, where to stay in bangkok among other insider touches. By the way, each hotel even has an employee with the title of IN INSIDER, along with the concierge has secrets and tips that can solve or leave your life in the city exceptional. At the In Bangkok, the conciergerie is called Whatever/Whenever. The name says it all.

Still in doubt about where to stay in bangkok ?

Breakfast

Morning extravaganza. Breakfast takes place at The Kitchen Pantry every day from 6:30am to 10:30am. The space is huge, as is the diversity of food available. Official royal plenty.

At the buffet, led by the culinary director of hotel Steven Kim, we find light, organic and healthy options, such as detox and revitalizing juices. I tried several based on lemon and orange juice. Continental breakfast classics, typical of the French menu, such as pain au chocolate, croissant, éclair, as well as Chinese, Thai, Japanese food, among other options to the customer's taste.

I loved it: omelet with cheese and tomato and the freshly made pancakes and waffles to be devoured with honey, nutella and fruit.

At The Kitchen Pantry lunch and dinner are also served daily, as well as at W Terrace, an annex to the interior space, great for afternoon coffee or early happy hour. In my opinion the best option for dinner is the House of Sathorn. Keep reading and you will understand why.

The House of Sathorn

Adjacent to the hotel's modern building is The House of Sathorn – a beautiful colonial-style property over 127 years old – listed as a historic heritage site. There we find a dining room, a bar-lounge, an outdoor area for meals and events in a flowered courtyard, as well as a room for parties and private meetings. Here you can go for lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and/or drinks. The weekend brunch also attracts a lot of people.

I tried dinner in the central courtyard (The Courtyard) on a delicious summer night. The atmosphere is pleasant and light, despite being a more upscale venue. The menu varies according to seasonal ingredients. I ate a wonderful dish. I tasted a steak accompanied by cheese risotto. Delight! The menu is signed by Fatih Tutak – a Turkish chef who has led the kitchens of renowned and starred restaurants such as The Bellbrook I'm Hong Kong, o NO BUT in Copenhagen and the Nihonryori Ryugin from Tokyo.

I was lucky to have dinner on a day when there was a live band and I really enjoyed those classics that everyone loves – from Girl from Ipanema to Wonderwall. #vibes

After dinner, the best idea is to head to The Bar – which is reminiscent of many chic bars in London and New York. Big city stuff! So, prepare the look. Dress code apply.

Suggestion: order a wonderful drink from the menu and take a chance on the mixologist's suggestions. I did both and did well on both orders.

Back to the hotel….

Fit Gym

The hotel's gym called FIT GYM located on the sixth floor, between the AWAY SPA and WET POOL. Various equipment, as well as weights, balls and cardio equipment are divided among the nearly 150 square meters. It is a complete gym that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is the hotel's atmosphere. Always something going on…

I liked that in addition to water they also have headphones #details

And after a workout… nothing better than a dip.

Wet Pool

That's what they call the pool area. Realize that everything has a specific name and is part of this super word game and storytelling. The area which is also open 24 hours has several chairs, sofas and sun-beds. The pool is colorful at night. And oh, it was the first time I dived into a musical pool. An interesting playlist rolls underwater. Each dive, a song and several flashes. LOL
