History

La Mirande, which dates back to the year 1309, was named after the famous hall of the Palace of the Popes, where the representatives of the popes received visitors of the highest rank. Originally La Mirande was a cardinals' palace built in the XNUMXth century.

Its walls and ruins were restored in the 1987th century for the emergence of the then Baroque-facing Hotel de Vervins; it later became Hotel Pamard at the end of the 1990th century and underwent further renovations between 1990 and XNUMX. Although some features reflect its origins, its owners wanted to recreate an XNUMXth century atmosphere. In XNUMX La Mirande opened its doors as a hotel and restaurant.

The hotel also offers a boutique, in the hotel's medieval basement, with products that are even part of the hotel's decor. Used cosmetics are also available for sale there, as well as many other products that represent the time and the hotel.

One of the main highlights: the gastronomy

The Gourmet Restaurant offers creative cuisine with fresh products and a touch of Provencal cuisine. The responsible chef, Jean Claude Aubertin, maintains a close relationship with local producers and farmers, monitoring the quality and production of everything used in its kitchen.

Another service option, called Chef's Table, has a full menu prepared and served by the in-house Chef. A table with capacity for 14 people in the hotel's “basement” brings customers together and offers a closer relationship with the chef and food preparation.

O hotel em Avignon also offers a cooking school (LeMarmiton School) which was created in 1994 and brings the best chefs in the region, one week a month they invite you to cook together. All equipment is provided and the class ends with a nice meal and wines chosen by a somelier.

A room for meetings and/or private events is also offered to guests on business trips. O Breakfast it can be American or continental, served in the privacy of your room or in the hotel's own restaurant.

A bar (open from 11:00 to 15:00 and from 18:00 to 1:00) and a Tea Room for tea (open from 15:00 to 18:00) are also available to all. The Tea Room offers every afternoon a buffet with 100% organic sweets and snacks produced at the hotel by the in-house Pastry Chef.

It is worth mentioning that the La Mirande adopted a responsible management with the environment with the use of organic products in its kitchen, maintaining a great relationship with farmers and local producers, and it is not only in the kitchen that this responsibility is applied, also in cleaning and bath products, such as also in the water filtration system to bring your guests the purest water possible.

The rooms are true works of art:

There are 27 in total, decorated with different wall tapestries, oak parquet floors and silk-lined curtains. Each of them has a unique XNUMXth century decoration with wall paintings recreated by great artists such as Braquenié, Canovas, Comoglio and Rubelli for example.
