With the opening of the market, there was the centralization of farmers and merchants in the region who, before the destruction of the medieval walls, sold their products outside to avoid the collection of taxes.

Currently, in addition to the shops selling fresh products, inside the Boqueria there are numerous stands with cooked and seasoned seafood, jamóns, artisanal salami and various types of typical Spanish food.

The market is a perfect place to grab a bite or enjoy one of the many restaurants located between the stands. Take advantage of local stores to get excellent wines on sale. If you want to toast right there, visit one of the indoor bars to drink a good glass of wine or beers and combine it with the snacks offered.
