The name already reveals exactly what we are talking about: a museum – very rich. The owner and founder Omer Tosun He is a great collector and worshiper of art and shares his collection of antiquities from the Ottoman, Seljuk, Roman and Hittite periods with everyone.

Museum Hotel Reception

The past meets the present in a majestic way in an intimate, magical and history-filled environment. Customers can really feel the culture of Cappadocia in all senses.

Priceless objects, carpets, paintings, clothing and other items give life and decorate all the premises of the place. Each wall, each corner is special, as are the countless stones that were placed by hand one by one and form the structure there. Incredible.

The rooms, the suites, the lil'a restaurant, the reception and all outdoor spaces arouse attention and interest. What's more, everything is registered there, as in any other more conventional museum. Cool.

In total there are 30 meticulously decorated special rooms. No two rooms are the same and each one has super special items and details, so it's hard to choose or say which one is the coolest.

Where to stay in Cappadocia ? In any of these rooms and suites that include: Jacuzzi, international telephone, wireless internet connection, HD TV, air conditioning, #Nespresso coffee maker, iron, safe and menu with several pillow options. That's right, you can choose the type of feather, foam, thickness, etc.

We stayed in the suite called Couch – incredible room overlooking the valley and a kind of living room with aquarium-fountain. Upon arrival we were surprised with a handwritten card by the hotel manager, fruit, turkish delight and a bottle of house wine #délis

HIGHLIGHTED: all guests receive a card with the cell phone of Omer himself, who lives there and says he is available for any eventual problem or question. Unusual delicacy strengthening bonds and increasing the level of the five stars experience.

In the bathroom: bathtub with hydromassage, lots of marble (as in many places in Turkey) and products L'occitane.

Attention to the smallest details: we arrived at the end of the day and went straight to dinner. When we got back to the room, we noticed that someone had come in during the night, outside of service hours. What they did: they simply folded the edge of the sheet and comforter, suggesting that they had the bed ready for us. Bottles of water and sweets specially made by the chef were also placed beside the bed. #servicenote10

Facilities and Common Areas

It is difficult to describe each part of the hotel, there are several environments that function as comfortable lounges with tables, sofas and cushions and art galleries. Perfect spots to admire the view and the numerous balloons. Have you read our post about the balloon ride?

I loved the area with rose bushes and animals like peacocks and turtles. They raise various animals and also grow fruits and vegetables that are served with meals. Organic and sustainable.

Without a doubt, what we enjoyed the most was the swimming pool, wonderfully made entirely of stone in the style Roman-Ottoman. A delight with infinity edge and thermal inversion system. That is, good in any temperature and season of the year.

SPA

O Museum Hotel offers different types of Balinese massages and baths, such as wine and milk with roses. Special treatments such as relaxing and invigorating massages with different herbs and special oils can be done in the room or on the massage terrace – a beautiful room with glass windows and that not-so-basic view: the typical Cappadocia scenery.

Prices range from 65 euros to 300 euros and there goes a ball… according to the duration of the massage and preferences.

Breakfast

Delight. Delight. Delight. King and queen breakfasts with Turkish options (they love to eat cucumber, tomato and cheese), the typical French menu (pain au chocolate, croissant, éclair…) and table after table with many options of breads, jams, drinks and cold. If we were to list all the dishes and goodies available, we would need a monothematic post about it here on the blog.

Highlights: the egg options (made to order to your liking) and the Gozleme (traditional Turkish dish that looks like a savory crepe made with bread dough over a wood fire). Too good!

It is worth mentioning here the name of the area manager who took care of us and all the guests with great affection, attention and smile on her face: Arzu! Our teşekkür ederim (thank you, in their language).

The LIL`A Restaurant

Lil'a is the first à la carte restaurant that boasts one of the most beautiful panoramic views in the region. The menu includes modern and classic Turkish dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients.

Lil'a is proud of its award-winning national and international chefs who have contributed to securing the restaurant the “American Express Selects” seal.

We tasted the lasagna, the mutton with vegetables and the hamburger in the room (room service with Lil`a's menu available until midnight).

The restaurant is open every day and also welcomes people who are not staying at the Museum. So even if you still don't know where to stay in cappadocia or have already booked another accommodation – here's the tip.
