National 11/XNUMX Memorial and Museum

One of the greatest tragedies that ever happened on the planet is remembered daily at the National 11/2001 Memorial & Museum in New York, USA. The site was planned shortly after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in 3, in memory of the XNUMX victims who lost their lives there.

O National 11/XNUMX Memorial and Museum started to be built in 2006, it was delivered in 2011, but it only opened its doors to the public in 2014. It can be a sad tour, but not to be missed because it is a tribute. It's worth checking out the fascinating structure of the Memorial on your trip to New York.

The Memorial and the Museum, although they are in the same place, are separate. Entrance to the Memorial is free, as it is a way for people to pay tribute to the victims whose names are engraved there in bronze. These were placed around two north and south pools with water fountains, built to the exact size and location where each Twin Tower once stood. The square, where the "surviving tree”, is ahead as well. This one was found alive among the wreckage and later replanted.

The Memorial is different from the Museum. It's a silent place, a place that people use to remember the victims of this tragedy and, perhaps, to think about how something so terrible could happen. I thought about it all the time.

The Museum exhibits nearly 11 pieces, including: documents, objects taken from the site of the attacks, fragments of planes and cars, and columns of the building twisted because of the impact of the planes. There are also videos about what happened and about the construction.

Visiting these places is like reliving the day of the attack and feeling a little of that energy that is inevitably still there.

A tip is to visit the square, which is very beautiful and at the Memorial, contemplate the beauty of the fountains, where the names of officers, firefighters and, finally, the people who were victims of the tragedy are. It is well worth the visit but prepare your heart, because it excites.
