Food Guide Germany: where to eat in Cologne

Looking for tips on where to drink and eat in Cologne, Germany? Know that no script is complete in Cologne if you don't have a stop to taste the german gastronomy and local city beer, a Koelsch beer. This post about where to eat in Cologne features some special addresses where “I tasted and toasted the city”. For starters, you have to drink a Kölsch in a “brewery”  – the traditional German pub, where beer is brewed. Experts on the subject define Kölsch as a beer with a light body, golden color and low taste and bitterness, with a slightly fruity aroma and an alcohol content of 4,8%.

As for me, who doesn't know much about beer, I found the Kölsch perfect for women's taste. It's light and harmonizes well with all the dishes I tried in Cologne, especially sausages (würst).

Below is a list of places I visited and recommend for drinking and eating in Cologne. From restaurants to street food. Enjoy. Prost!

1. EARLY AT THE CATHEDRAL

The restaurant and brewery early has more than 100 years of existence. It is one of the favorite spots for tourists and, therefore, is always crowded. Its easy location (very close to the Cathedral), its traditional atmosphere, its attractive prices, the good beer and hearty dishes justify the fame of one of the most popular restaurants in Cologne. Very worth a visit. There are tables inside and out on the street.

Os dishes are the classics of German cuisine: sausages, pork knuckle, schnitzel, among others. I was accompanied by my mother and together we experienced the Mettwurst eo Fresh bratwurst. Both delicious. One salad accompanies the dish. The average of price is de 10 euros per dish.

Excellent place for dinner for two with a romantic atmosphere! I laid eyes on the facade of this restaurant and enjoyed it. So, I made a reservation and went there for dinner at night. A light dinner for two women with wine was around 60 euros. The restaurant is at the back and at the entrance there is a bar for those who just want to stay there and have a snack.
