Where to stay in London – Best neighborhoods

The best place to stay in London is in the City Center, where some of the most traditional and tourist spots are located, such as Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and the London Eye. Now, if you're looking to stay in a more funky neighborhood, full of street art and open-air markets, the city also has great options.

We separate below the main neighborhoods that we consider ideal for a peaceful, fun and safe trip, check it out:

See all options for where to stay in London.

Westminster

Classic and traditional London neighborhood. It is the ideal region for those who want to have a view of the most famous postcards of the city, such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and the Palace of Westminster, where the Clock Tower and Big Ben are located.

Covent Garden

Covent Garden is a slightly busier and less traditional area to stay in London, but it's still an excellent option. In addition to more shops, stores and major avenues, this central London neighborhood has a livelier nightlife.

South Kensington

It is one of the most chic and tranquil areas of the city of London. It's great for those who are in town with their family (with children or without). Many good restaurants and outdoor shops make up the neighborhood. And it's still possible to be close to London's sights by subway.

Soho

Definitely one of the trendiest neighborhoods in London. Always full, with many shops, restaurants, clubs and bars. It's great to get around on foot and by subway, even at night.

Camden Town

If you like to stay in more funky and alternative neighborhoods, you've found your best option. Camden Town is known for its biggest market, Portobello Road, and also for the presence of the counterculture since the 1970s. The region is very busy, with several fairs, shops and cozy parks. However, it is far from the center.

Spitalfields

The region is also busier and more relaxed than central London. The young people of the city are present in the neighborhood and bring their influence to the events, fashion, art and culture of the place.

Shoreditch

Shoreditch was once an industrial area, but since the 1990s it has become known for its contemporary art activities, fairs, cool young people and lots of places to go out at night. The restaurants, bars and clubs in the region are highly recommended and always lively, no matter the day of the week.

Kings Cross

The district is well known for being home to the famous Kings Cross train station (and its secret passage to Hogwarts). In addition to being a great place with easy access to public transport, it is also a region that concentrates hotels with good prices.
