One of the places for New Year's Eve in Prague is the main and historic square in the historic center. The celebration will start at 17 pm, featuring a varied program of bands. Afterwards, the program continues until midnight with DJs. Street food, hot drinks and beer can be bought at the stalls at the Christmas fair, which will be open in the square until January 06th.  Where: Praça da Cidade Velha (Old Town Square) and from 17am. On the city's most important commercial avenue, the New Year will be celebrated with “video-mapping”, a kind of image and sound effect on the facade of the National Museum. But beware: the event it will happen on january 01st of 2020. Where: Wenceslas Square – Prague 1 / New Town. Opening Hours 18h15, 19h15, 20h15. Outdoor event, free.




3. Mozart New Year's Gala Dinner at Boccaccio Hall

You can celebrate the New Year by attending the exclusive Mozart New Year's Gala Dinner in the Boccaccio Hall, a beautiful and historically protected room. At the Teatro dos Estados – where Mozart gave the world premiere of the opera Don Giovanni in 1787 – you can enjoy an unforgettable New Year's Eve in style. That's because the program includes the most popular scenes from the operas Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, Die Zauberflöte and Die Entführung aus dem Serail along with legendary sets and costumes.




During the evening, dinner with Czech and international cuisine will be served. The evening's schedule will be as follows:
19:15 p.m. – opening

21:00 – 21:50 – first part of the presentation

Boat trips on the Vltava River (Vltava in Czech) are very famous and sought after by visitors to the city at any time of the year. In fact, admiring historical monuments with special lighting from the perspective of the river is a very good choice for New Year's Eve.

From the privileged position of the boat, it will be possible to watch the fireworks (remembering that these are not the official fireworks), enjoy a typical buffet for the occasion and listen to good music with live bands playing.

Below is a list of some options for this type of tour/celebration:

  • Cruise with jazz band: guests will have a welcome drink, unlimited consumption of selected drinks, prosecco to toast at midnight and buffet.   • Cruise on the luxury boat Bohemia Rhapsody: here you will also have a welcome drink, full buffet and prosecco to toast. The program will be completed by a DJ and karaoke. The cruise will pass the most important points of Prague along the river. There are two possibilities of seats: gold and silver. With the gold ticket, the participant is accommodated in an area with a glass ceiling, making it possible to see more details of the city. 7. New Year Party at Club Roxy

The Roxy club has been open in Prague for over 20 years. The house's stage receives great national and foreign artists. It is located very close to the Old Town Square, which is the historic heart of Prague, and on a street that is full of bars and clubs: Dlouhá street. This traditional Prague club will promote the “Cosmic Love – New Year's Eve 2023” party on New Year's Eve with DJs on two different stages. The environment will have special decorations and visuals with light effects. Guests will receive a welcome drink. One of Prague's most renowned jazz clubs, the Jazz Dock is set up in a modern structure on a kind of closed deck over the Vltava River, providing beautiful views of the city. The space presents concerts of high musical quality, highlighting the diversity of genres, receiving musicians and bands from classical currents to new jazz and blues.

On New Year's Eve, the place proposes an intense party, activated by the groove of two bands, which will play different styles such as R&B, funk, soul and fusion. One of the groups is the Jazz Dock House Band, made up of recognized musicians from the Czech music scene, who will bring to the public a mix of well-known songs, presenting a fusion with neo-funk (John Scofield, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Miles Davis , etc.) as well as pop and rock (Depeche Mode, Michael Jackson, Doors, Led Zeppelin).

The other attraction of New Year's Eve is Circus Ponorka. Despite having “circus” in the name, the band is made up of just guitarist, singer and songwriter, Jan Ponocný, who skillfully uses different electronic effects to layer the sounds and create the impression of having an entire band playing. Where: Janáčkovo nábřeží, 2 Prague 5-Smíchov / Timetable: from 21 pm / Prices: CZK 1250 CZK (about 50 EUR) to sit at a table. The price includes a plate of tapas (cheese, salami, olives, creams, vegetables, butter, bread and sweets) and a glass of sparkling wine. Standing, the price is 650 CZK and only one drink is included.
