4 – Suba a Blackcomb Mountain com a Peak 2 Peak

One of the most amazing rides for anyone going to Whistler and going up the gondola Peak 2 Peak. The cable car goes over 2.000 meters high and connects two mountains, the Whistler Mountain and up to the summit of Blackcomb Mountain.

It can be high summer down there in the city, but when you reach the summit the peaks are still snowy and there are still people skiing there. The look, then, is something from another world. Personally, it was my favorite tour of the trip.

The tour in total lasts around 3 to 4 hours and starts at 53 Canadian dollars per person.

5 – Hike in Joffre Lakes

Between the natural wonders that you need to do when you are in Vancouver is the trail to the Joffre Lakes. The park is a 1 hour drive north of Whistler.

The Park is home to 3 crystal clear lakes – beautiful turquoise blue – formed by meltwater: the Lower Joffre Lake, o Middle Joffre Lake and the Upper Joffre Lake

To get to know the three lakes, you need to prepare yourself for a good trail lasting about 6 hours (round trip). Always remember to be prepared with the right equipment for these adventures, such as hiking shoes. In the end, it's really worth it!

#Science Moment: A curiosity, the spectacular turquoise color is because of rockflour, a kind of “rock flour”. These particles, which come off the glaciers, are suspended in the water and reflect this wonderful color. In other lakes in Canada and around the world it is also possible to see this same phenomenon.
